LNG Kills is a civil resistance campaign demanding the government of British Columbia stop LNG expansion and commit to the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty.

We have heard the warnings from scientists, we have seen the fires, breathed the smoke, been scorched by the heat, and flooded by the atmospheric rivers. We have watched as our governments continue to expand fossil fuel infrastructure while only paying lip service to real climate action.

Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) is a Fossil Fuel

Government and industry have spent millions of dollars telling us "natural gas" is not as bad as other fossil fuels. That is a lie. Natural gas is almost entirely methane, a gas many times worse than CO2 for the climate, and when it leaks into the atmosphere the result is every bit as bad as burning coal or oil.

Our Demand

We demand that the government of British Columbia enter into a legally binding Fossil Fueld Non-Proliferation Treaty with other governments around the world. A legally binding international treaty is the only way to break the cycle of one country pointing to another and saying we are not the real problem, they are and then refusing to act meaningfully until others do.
